About the Factory:

Osman Group Factory for precast concrete products was built in 1980 as one of the largest precast concrete manufacturing facilities in the region, under our main company, Specialized Contracting & Industries Co.  Although we specialize in manufacturing concrete pipes for various applications, we also design and manufacture a wide variety of other precast concrete products.

 

Mission:

Our mission is to meet the requirements of the consultant engineers, who specify our products, the contractors we sell to, and the communities which will use, operate, and maintain our products.  To acheive this goal, we design our products to the highest specifications, manufacture at the best quality, and always deliver according to schedule.

 

Quality Management:

Concrete should be built to last.  To achieve the highest possible quality, we maintain a strict quality management program.  We have developed internal QC procedures that go above and beyond the required specifications.

Our factory operates an internal lab to test our raw materials, our work-in-progress, and our finished products.  We also partner with several external labs for more sophisticated testing.

 

 


History:

After three years of operation SCIC invested in establishing a Pre-Cast Concrete Pipes Factory on an area of 30 Feddans at Wady Houf, Cairo. 

The manufacturing started in 1980 with the production of pre-cast R.C. pipes and manholes for gravity pipelines. Seven years later a new line for the production of pre-cast segments for tunnels up to 5.2 m diam. was introduced. Next, we began producing Precast Concrete Cylinder Pipes. By  late 1990's, we  established our own built-in mould manufacturing steel workshop, allowing us to add many other products, including decorative panels, structural elements, and many other precast products.

With 30 years of experience, we have supplied over 800 kilometers of pipelines for different projects within the Arab Republic of Egypt.

We manufacture a wide variety of precast and prestressed concrete products.  You can find some of our products below, but custom designs are available upon request.

Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipes (PCCP):

Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe consists of a water-tight steel cylinder embedded in a concrete core, which is then wrapped with high-tensile wire, and coated with dense concrete or mortar. The joint consists of precisely-sized steel bell and profiled spigot ends, with an O-ring rubber gasket sealing the joint.

PCCP is manufactured according to AWWA C301, designed according to AWWA C304, and installed according to  AWWA M9.  Also, PCCP can be designed and manufactured according to any applicable standards.

PCCP is used for high-pressure applications, such as main water transmission lines and sewer force mains.

Reinforced Concrete Pipes (RCP):

RCP consists of one or more circular reinforcement cages embedded in the concrete pipe. RCP has a proven track record for being one of most efficient, most economic, and most durable type of pipes.

RCP is designed and manufactured according to either ASTM C76 , BS 5911 or DIN 1045, and the Egyptian standards.

RCP is able to withstand substantial internal and external loads, and is used for sanitation systems, storm drains, and other gravity lines applications.

R.C.Jacking Pipes:

R.C Jacking Pipes can be installed by both conventional jacking methods and modern micro tunneling techniques.

Jacking pipes can be used for crossings or tunnels under railways, roads, buildings, or other busy areas where excavation is not permitted. 

Jacking Pipes are manufactured in compliance with BS 5911 or any other applicable standards.

Reinforced Concrete Cylinder Pipes :

Reinforced Concrete Cylinder  Pipe  (RCCP)  consists of circular reinforcement cages (mild steel) and a water-tight steel cylinder. The joint consists of steel bell and profiled spigot ends, with an O-ring rubber gasket sealing the joint.

RCCP is manufactured according to AWWA C300, and designed and installed according to AWWA M9

RCCP is mostly used  for  low-pressure applications  such as cooling water networks at power plants.

 

R.C.Manholes:

Manholes are designed and manufactured as per ASTM-C478 and according to the Egyptian code.

The manholes consist of :

  • Base slab
  • Riser rings
  • Top slab

Manholes are externally lined with Bituminous (PF4).

Fixed openings can be made in the manholes for inlet and outlet connecting pipes.

Rings will be jointed using sealant for manholes diam. 1000,1200 mm and R.G for other diameters.

Segmental Tunnels :

Precast Reinforced Concrete Segments

Precast segments can be either trapezoidal or ordinary and can be manufactured to any required diameter.

Uses :

Segments can be used for Large diameters collectors, roads and railways crossings or as shafts for jacking tunnels.

 

 

R.C. Precast Panels:

Precast Concrete Panels can be manufactured either with smooth surfaces or exposed aggregate surfaces . It can be straight or curved .

 

House Connection Chambers:

House connection chambers are manufactured in circular and rectangular shapes.

Dimensions:

-         600mm diameter

-         60 × 60 cm & 80 × 80 cm

-         Depth vary from 600mm up to 1600mm.

Fixed openings can be made in the square chambers for inlet and outlet connecting pipes.

 

U-Channel :

Precast concrete U channel is a popular choice for drainage systems in many commercial and industrial applications. It can also be used for domestic situations where large volumes of  surface water have to be collected.

U channel can be manufactured according to client's dimensions and specs.
